Biography

Gian Antonio Susto was born in Monselice on April, 7th, 1984.

 

He received the Laurea Triennale (B.Sc.) Degree in 2006 and the Laurea Specialistica (M.Sc.) degree (cum laude) both in Controls Engineering from the University of Padova.

 

He received in 2013 the Ph.D. degree in Information Technology at the University of Padova under the scientific supervision of Professor Alessandro Beghi.

 

In 2008/2009 he visited the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of University of California, San Diego thanks to the UC Education Abroad Program.

From March to August 2011 he has worked as a Research Intern for Infineon Technologies AG in Villach, Austria.

 

During his PhD studies he has been awarded with 3 Best Student Paper Awards at the following IEEE conferences:

  1. 7th Conference on Automation Science and Engineering by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (Trieste, Italy - Aug. 2011).
  2. 24th Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Conference by the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (Saratoga Springs (NY) - May 2012).
  3. 2012 Multi-Conference on Systems and Control by the IEEE Control Systems Society (Dubrovnik, Croatia - Oct. 2012)

 

From January to July 2012 he was a Visiting Researcher at the Dynamics and Control Research Group at National University of Ireland, Maynooth, where he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher from September 2012 to August 2013.

He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at University of Padova from September 2013 to July 2016 when he become Assistant Professor at the same University. In 2021 he was promoted to Associate Professor

 

Since 2018 he is Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing and since 2021 he is Associate Editor for Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.
