The control systems group in Padova has a long tradition dating back in the 60's. Since then the group has grown and now includes about 16 faculty and more than 20 MS student, Ph.D students and post-doctoral researches.

The range of research interests has grown including areas such as system identification, networked control systems, high performance vehicle control and automated navigation, behavioral systems, industrial automation, control of complex systems such as Tokamak and adaptive optic telescopes, quantum control just to name a few.

Our group holds a long tradition of collaborations with the most prestigious international universities such as UC Berkeley, MIT, KTH, ETH, etc .. and with industrial partners such as Ducati Corse, Salvagnini, Aprilia.

Many alumni from our group are now teaching in foreign universities such as Caltech, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA and run high-tech companies. Our group has also a established tradition in research and technology transfer resulted in several start-ups.
