Communication to within a fidelity criterion in unknown networks

Mukul Agarwal

Department of Electrical Engineering,

We consider the question of communication of independent sources between various users to within various distortion levels over a network. The network might be unknown in the sense that  it's exact operation as a conditional distribution might not be known. We prove that assuming random-coding is permitted, separation architectures are optimal.
